Discussion on “Study in Japan” and student recruitment in Malaysia

ÃÛÓïÖ±²¥app recently engaged in an exchange of ideas with and regarding student recruitment in Malaysia.

Ibaraki University is a national institution located in the same prefecture as the University of Tsukuba's main campus. It faces the Pacific Ocean to the east and borders the Tokyo metropolitan area to the south.
The university has campuses in the northern, central, and southern regions of the prefecture, offering a wide range of academic fields, including Humanities and Social Sciences, Education, Science, Engineering, and Agriculture, etc.

Okayama University, also one of Japan’s top national comprehensive universities, traces its origins back to the founding of Okayama Medical College in 1870.
The university has a long-standing tradition of academic excellence and research innovation.

Since 2024, Okayama University has been tasked with implementing the "" by MEXT.
The university has set up offices in several ASEAN countries, including Indonesia, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos.
They are also planning to open an office in Malaysia to further expand their outreach.

These offices are key in recruiting outstanding students from ASEAN countries to universities across Japan, not just Okayama University.

When Ibaraki University visited Kuala Lumpur last week, we had the opportunity to discuss student recruitment efforts in Malaysia. We reviewed good practices for student recruitment in the country, and ÃÛÓïÖ±²¥app shared its own experience in recruiting local students.

To enhance the reputation of Japanese universities in Malaysia, it's essential to exchange good practices between institutions.
This is just the beginning of our collaboration, and we look forward to further strengthening our partnership.
